Title: The Other Side of Fifty
Media: Acrylic on panel / acrylique sur panneau
Dimensions: 61 x 45.5 cm

This self-portrait reveals my aging face through an invisible barrier. Paint captures the emotional and physical reality of living a full life for fifty years, but the surface of the art board itself is the symbolic, permanent divider between my present life and the youth I can now only look back on.
