ARTIST STATEMENT
Using traditional European aesthetics, I capture mundane everyday life with a focus on South Asian figures adjusting to western lifestyles. Having been born and raised in Punjab, India, and later immigrating to Canada in the early 2000s, I’ve experienced and witnessed what it means to be a diasporic individual—constantly trying to understand when to compromise with Western ways of life and when to remain steadfast in preserving South Asian traditions.
