This is Helga. Her eye reflects the lake which both Helga and Herfried, her companion of 56 years, loved so much. Herfried is dead now. In her iris and pupil there is a memory of the sky, clouds and sunlight. In the darker corner of the eye there is the universe where she hopes he still resides. Life and death, consciousness and the sublime, are one in Helga’s eye.
