Host The Kingston Prize Portrait Finalists at Your Gallery
Searching for a special exhibition that will broaden your audience base and inspire existing audiences?
We invite you to consider the Kingston Prize Portrait Exhibition. This biennial exhibition features thirty contemporary portraits chosen from hundreds of entries received from every province and territory in Canada. A jury of leading arts professionals including curators, professional artists, and art critics, is charged with the responsibility of choosing the exhibition finalists and the prize winner. Each exhibition provides a unique perspective on Canadian art and culture.
The award ceremony and gala is a buzz-worthy special event that patrons and artists exuberantly embrace and champion.
Faces of Canada, the student education program which is presented in conjunction with the exhibition, provides an opportunity for curious young learners to explore and reflect on a wide range of topics both technical and emotional. Through portraits, they discover how colour, tone, line, and texture evoke awe, joy, sadness, and anger, all the while exploring their personal response to the paintings.
The enduring fascination of portraiture is evident in its six-hundred-year history, from Leonardo’s Mona Lisa to the ubiquitous selfies of our time.
We invite you to talk to us about including this quintessentially culturally diverse Canadian exhibition in your programming.
